Fighting skin problems for some women can seem like a life long chore. Whether the condition is chronic or just the occasional outbreak, dealing with different skin problems can be a frustrating and sometimes embarrassing chore.

Women tend to have more skin conditions than men. Women’s natural monthly cycles cause changes in hormone levels that can often cause to skin outbreaks.

Pregnancy is another huge reason for skin problems in women; the changes in the body during this phase are massive. It is rare for any woman to go through an entire pregnancy with perfectly clear skin.

While we could spend an entire day talking about all the things that could happen to your skin, here we talk about a few of the most common skin conditions that most women will face at one time or another in their life.

Wrinkles

We all know that wrinkles are inevitable as we grow older. But you should also know that it is possible to slow down the aging process. Keeping your skin moisturized with a good quality moisturizing cream is a good first step. Drink plenty of water. Avoid coffee and alcohol as much as possible. Reduced stress has been shown to have a positive effect on the skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

Washing your skin too often or too aggressively can also lead to more wrinkles, as you can wash away the natural oils in your skin, leading to a dry skin condition. Excessive exposure to the sun is a leading cause of wrinkles. Using a good, high SPF sunblock and decrease the effects of the sun but limiting your exposure to the direct sun is the best option if possible.

Dry Skin and Dark Skin

Unless you have a chronic condition such as psoriasis or eczema, there is no reason to suffer from dry skin. Follow our common sense tips and you’ll have soft supple skin in no time.

Limit bathing and showering. Most of us want to shower every morning to feel fresh and ready for the day. That morning shower is one of the top causes of dry skin. Not ready to give up that morning shower? No problem just follow these tips:

  • Moisturize right after showering. This will replace oils and moisture that bathing removed.
  • Use a natural soap, preferable with no scent or natural oils for scent. If you have lice you can check out these homeopathic remedy for lice.
  • Use warm water rather than hot in the shower. This decreases the removal of natural skin oils.
  • Don’t use abrasive scouring pads on your skin. A soft cloth is all your need.

Dark skin is often caused by hormonal changes in the body and are far more common in women than men. Dark areas on the face can be caused by too much exposure to the skin. These dark skin patches can be as small as a dime or can be much larger. There are effective skin whitening creams on the market that can help remove the dark skin spots.

Dark skin in intimate areas like the anus, vagina or inner thighs can be remedied with intimate skin whitening creams designed specifically for these areas. You can read more about natural vaginal bleaching at vaginalbleaching.org .

Acne

Acne is caused by blocked skin pores and is most commonly found on the face but can sometimes effect other areas such as buttocks or back. Some women suffer acne outbreaks on or around their menstrual cycle due to hormonal changes.

For some women, a good cleansing agent designed for acne is all that is required to clean up an outbreak. Facial masks can be effective at clearing up blackheads. It’s human nature to want to poke or squeeze acne outbreaks – Don’t do it! This will only aggravate the condition and make the acne worse and probably last longer.

An over the counter medication is likely the most that would be required to clear up a typical acne outbreak but if the acne is more severe it is suggested that you visit a dermatologist. He or she would have the expertise and access to stronger medications than you can find online or your drugstore.

Cold Sores

Cold sores are a form of the herpes simplex virus. Contrary to what many people think, the vast majority of people in the world – up to 80% have some form of herpes virus in their system. Some people are more prone to cold sores than others, and women tend to get more cold sores than men.

If you have ever hard a cold sore, you will know that the outbreak is usually preceded by a tingling or sometimes burning sensation on the lips where the outbreak is going to happen. As soon as you feel this sensation is the time to act to stop or minimize the cold sore outbreak.

If you can’t stop the outbreak from happening, you should refrain from kissing or placing your lips close to others as you will be contagious until the sore crusts over. Other symptoms that you may encounter when a cold sore outbreak happens are: fever, swollen lymph nodes and muscle ache.
